A few years ago, I was researching trying to find a way to make the grass in my yard, greener. I considered looking for maybe a different type of grass, such as Centipede, Fescue, or Bermuda. I even considered a process known as Hydro seeding.
Hydro seeding is a planting process that uses a slurry of seed and mulch. It is often used as an erosion control technique on construction sites and highway embankments as an alternative to the traditional process of broadcasting or sowing dry seed.
I had a bad erosion problem and lots of silt and clay like soil.
I wanted a quick planting technique and hydro seeding cost less than planting with sod.
So I called a professional hydro seeding service to come give me a free estimate on my yard.
A very kind and mild manner older gentleman came out to my house. As we walked along the yard I described my problem, and I said to him, “look, I’ve had this problem for years… tell me what’s best. What should I do? I asked him was hydro seeding really good. He took his hat off, scratched his head as said, well, “it’s good, but it’s not GOD. I hope you caught that...
For me, it was confirmation on a lot of other things that God had already been telling me as well…
The natural grass is better, because its nature, its God. The hydro seeding looks good, but it’s not as good as the natural.
From Natural to Spiritual –
From a Spiritual perspective, the grass is greener when you’re on God’s side. From a natural stand point, it’s not quite as green.
He maketh me to lie down in GREEN pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Let me tell you something: If you are “lying down” in green pastures, you are living like a King! … And you should, because you belong to a King, you are a Kings’ Kid... Eat, drink and be merry!
You are in “Choice” green pastures! Choice as in “RICH”.., not as in decision making.
You say: Wait. What..?
Your rest is in His green pastures. Restoration for your Soul, guidance to still deep waters of peace, and safe passage through the valley of the shadow of death, are ALL in these green pastures!
Settle down and learn how to ABIDE, DWELL and REMAIN in the green pastures that He has placed you in. Don’t stray...
Recognize that from that view point, the grass is truly greener on The Lord’s side.
It’s a process, and God will get you through, if you come over to where the grass is greener!
